Bus Training Services

What We Offer
Transit2GO provides personalized training on navigating the Madison Metro Bus System.

Services include:

• Learning how to plan your route(s) and travel by bus to one or multiple destinations, including transfers.
• Shadowing and support from Abby as you practice your routes.
• Initial training includes three sessions per route, with additional sessions available as needed.
• Assistance with FastFare card account set-up or other bus payment options.

What It Costs

• $50/hr for all Transit Training Services
• Transit2GO accepts IRIS Funding and Private Pay
• Transit2GO is a DVR vendor

Accommodations
Transit2GO welcomes mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, and canes, as well as caregivers. However, medical assistance is not provided during training.

Getting Started

Services begin through self-referral, agency referral, or DVR referral.

Self-Referral Step 1: Complete the In-Take Form
To begin, you must fill out an online In-Take Form. This form will gather information to determine if Transit2GO services meet your needs.

If you are accepted, you will receive an email with the following:

• A survey to determine where you want to take the bus. This will be the route(s) that Abby will train you on.
• Provide possible Orientation dates, times, and locations for you to attend, for either a virtual or in person meeting. Please let Abby know your preference on the In-Take Form.

Step 2: Attend Orientation
Orientation is required before beginning Bus Training. The session will last approximately 1 hour and will cover:

• An overview of updates to Madison Metro Bus System and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
• Instructions on using Google Maps and Metro Bus Apps for navigation
• How to plan and prepare for taking the bus, e.g. safety training and how to pay
• An overview of bus training expectations
